Dr Rebecca Nelson is an Associate Professor, Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, and a practising lawyer. Dr Nelson’s research and teaching focus on environmental and natural resources laws with a focus on empirical research and comparative contexts. She is an author of Australia’s leading water law textbook, Water Resources Law (2nd ed) and over 60 other publications. Dr Nelson holds a JSD(Stanford), JSM(Stanford) and BE(Environmental) /LLB (University of Melbourne). Dr Nelson serves as an advisor to the Australian national Murray-Darling Basin Authority and as a non-executive director of the national NGO Bush Heritage Australia. She was the Law Council of Australia’s Young Environmental Lawyer of the Year (2014).
