European Topic Centre on Climate change Adaptation and LULUCF

European Topic Centres are high level expert consortia, which are contracted by the European Environment Agency (EEA) to support them in their thematic work on Environmental Monitoring. The mission of the European Topic Centre on Climate change Adaptation and LULUCF (ETC-CA) is to assist the EEA in informing the EU policy developments which are relevant for the area of climate change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation (CCIVA) and disaster risk prevention across Europe, including assisting the EEA member countries.


Eurac Research is full member of ETC-CA profiting from its long experience in climate risk assessments and its role as policy advisor with various environmental agencies and other international institutions such as GIZ and UNEP. Eurac will contribute with its expertise in Climate Risk Assessments. The works involves supporting the EEA in activities in the field of climate change adaptation.

In particular, Eurac will be responsible, together with other ETC experts, for the further development and maintenance of Climate-ADAPT, the European Climate Adaptation Platform managed by EEA and the European Commission. The Platform aims to support European decision-makers in adapting to climate change by providing an overview of available data and information. In this regard, Eurac will focus on the topic of Disaster Risk Reduction.
